Snowperson for Marriage EqualitySticking it in the eye of the notoriously homophobic Westboro Baptist Church, a lesbian couple got married yesterday across the street at the Equality House. Gay Star News reports:

Katie Short and Kimberly Kidwell got married yesterday in the rainbow-painted house across the street from anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church. Equality House sent out messages earlier this month saying they were looking for same-sex couples who wanted to wed at the rainbow-painted house in Topeka, Kansas. The lesbian couple replied, and was chosen to be the first wedding to take place at the home purchased by Planting Peace founder Aaron Jackson to ‘combat messages of hate,’ from religious extremists Westboro Baptist Church who are notorious for protesting war veteran’s funerals and organizations that support equality.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
